Patna: Senior JDU leader Shyam Rajak on Thursday took strong exception to the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh introducing B.R. Ambedkar’s middle name “Ramji” in all official references to him. The exercise smacks of “mischief”, Rajak said.
Rajak, who is the ruling party’s deputy leader in the Assembly, alleged that the UP government circular was an attempt to “impose the agenda of Manuvad” and “divert the attention of Dalits from the infringement of their rights, taking place in a number of ways”. The Adityanath government has decided to introduce “Ramji” as B.R. Ambedkar’s middle name in all official correspondence. A government order was issued on Wednesday.
