Bihar Assy adjourned over Dalit’s murder issue

Patna: The pre-lunch session of Bihar Assembly was adjourned ahead of scheduled time today when members of ruling and opposition parties created ruckus in the house over relevant act not invoked on the accused of a Dalit`s murder.

Home Minister (In charge) Bijendra Prasad Yadav replying to a starred question of RJD member Uprendra Paswan related to non-invocation of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in the murder of a Dalit Arvind Paswan in Rani diara (riverine belt) under Buddhuchak police station area in Bhagalpur district on March 7 said that the issue would be probed.

On it, ruling JD (U) deputy leader in the state assembly Shyam Rajak and Ratnesh Sada said when the officer-in-charge of police station concerned had not lodged FIR under the pertinent act, what was the need of any probe.
He demanded direct action against the culprits in the case.
