Much along the lines of the BJP’s successful ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ campaign in the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the JD(U) is set to launch ‘Parcha Par Charcha’ ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls. The campaign will see party workers distribute pamphlets outlining Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s achievements and projecting him as a face of development and JD(U) leaders holding discussions at village chaupals.

The pamphlets, besides talking about the government’s work in road, electricity, education and energy sectors, would also highlight how PM Narendra Modi had “failed to fulfill his promise” of bringing black money back. The JD (U) intends to reach out to about 35,000 villages between June 24 and 30.

The party’s national spokesperson K C Tyagi told The Indian Express that Parcha Par Charcha will seek to establish a direct connect with rural Bihar. “We will talk to villagers about our achievements and vision of development. Each leader will be assigned villages,” he said.
