Bihar govt suspends IAS officer in disproportionate assets case

The Bihar government on Wednesday suspended IAS officer Dipak Anand in connection with a disproportionate assets case as such a notification had been issued by the general administration on Tuesday.

Special vigilance unit (SVU) of the Bihar government had registered a case of disproportionate assets case against the 2007 batch IAS officer Anand and wife Shikha Rani on January 2. After a case was registered against Anand and Rani, raids were carried out at various places, including his Patna residence.

The SVU is said to have gathered ample evidence against Anand and Rani. The state government took action against Anand when a case was registered against him on January 2.

Allegations of irregularities of illegal mining, transportation and stockage of sand had been levelled against him when Anand was the Saran district magistrate last year.
