New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah on Friday named Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar as the person in-charge for the party in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed as the co-in-charge.
On Thursday, former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi stated that his party, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and the BJP will contest the polls together, adding that the main agenda of the alliance will be to thwart the incumbent Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s alliance.
The Bihar assembly elections are scheduled to be held later this year. (ANI)
