BJP, JD-U spar in jingle warfare

1 min read

Finding itself unenviably squeezed in the BJP’s overwhelming campaign blitzkrieg, Bihar’s ruling JD(U), has come up with several catchy slogans and jingles seeking to highlight the importance of CM Nitish Kumar for Bihar’s sustained growth.

A freshly released JD(U) booklet entitled “Bol Bihar Bol” has got a lyric that depicts Mr Kumar as Arjun in the epic Mahabharata out to defeat what the regional party once described as “outside pollution entering Bihar”.

“Loktantra ke mahasamar me nikal para hai Arjun veer; Ek haath me samajik nyay, duje me vikas ka teer,” (Arjun is out in the war of democracy with social justice in one hand and development in the other) says the lyric being used by slogans by the state’s JD(U) workers.
