Father arrested for sexually exploiting minor daughter in Nalanda
2 min readPATNA: In a shocking incident, a father was arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting his minor daughter aged around 16-year-old from Laheri locality under Laheri police station area in Nalanda district on Thursday night.
DSP (headquarter) Imran Parwez said that the accused was identified as Mohammad Zubair (50), a native of Bindh police station area in the district. “He was arrested immediately and was later sent to jail,” he said adding that Zubair was a riskshaw puller in the area.
Police sources said the victim along with her mother approached the police station after the accused on Thursday night attempted to sexually exploit her soon after entering the rented accommodation where the family lived.
“The victim told police that her father was sexually exploiting her for at least last six months and out of fear of shame and social stigma, she had not revealed the incident to her mother or anyone else,” police said quoting the victim’s statement. Police said that an FIR was lodged with the Women’s police station in connection with the incident.
They said that on Thursday night, Zubair reached home in inebriated state and while other member including his wife (45) was also present, he tried to exploit his daughter but she was saved by mother and other siblings.
“Zubair has five daughters and three sons and for some time, the entire family had migrated to Asansol in West Bengal but returned to Nalanda again. The victim is the third one among the siblings. The victim said in Asansol also Zubair had sexually exploited her on several occasion,” police said. They said that the medical examination of the victim was conducted on Friday adding further investigation were on.
