Father gets lifer for raping his minor daughter
1 min readPatna: A local court on Friday convicted a father to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of raping his minor daughter.
After hearing arguments of both sides, Special Judge (POCSO Act) cum additional district and sessions judge Ravindra Nath Tripathi also slapped a penalty of Rs 1 lakh against the ‘rapist’ father after finding him guilty under section 6 of POCSO Act and section 376 of IPC.
According to the judgement, 80 percent of penalty amount would be paid to the victim for her studies and marriage.
The court also ordered to send a copy of judgement related to payment of compensation to the victim under Bihar Victims Compensation Scheme 2014 to Bihar Legal Service Authority so that compensation could be paid by the state government on its recommendation.
The court observed that it was not only a heinous crime on the part of father but it also tainted the pious social relationship between father and daughter.
