giriraj-singh3BJP MP Giriraj Singh will have to produce the details about a businessman cousin he has brought up before the police in a robbery case involving more than Rs.1 crore.

Singh, who was finding it difficult to explain how Rs.50,000 allegedly stolen from his house had turned into Rs.1.14 crore, has now told police in Patna the entire cash belonged to his real estate businessman cousin in Nagpur, Rakesh Kumar Singh.
The Nawada MP had owned up Rs.50,000, but his family had not mentioned about the cousin during a complaint of theft at their Patna residence.
According to reports, Singh has recoded his statement at S K Puri police station, where Rakesh was also present. Though Rakesh’s statement was not recorded, police have asked the MP to produce all the property, business and I-T returns details of his cousin as soon as possible. Police told a daily Rakesh had a maize/poultry business and also dabbled in land deals.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate and I-T department are likely to quiz the MP soon.

The JD(U), RJD and Congress MLAs had on Wednesday created ruckus in both Houses of Bihar legislature over recovery of Rs.1.14 crore, 600 US dollars and ornaments stolen from the house of Singh and demanded his arrest and termination of Parliament membership alleging it as “black money”.
