Girl critical after foiling rape bid

Patna: A 17-year-old girl is battling for life at Barh referral hospital after she jumped off a running train to foil a rape attempt on Wednesday.

The incident occurred when the victim, a resident of Mokama in Patna rural, was travelling in Barauni-Mokama-Danapur passenger train.

A group of youths made an attempt to rape her in the train between Mor and Mokama railway stations.

Locals spotted the girl lying in a pool of blood beside the railway tracks and admitted her to the Barh hospital.

Later, a police team from the Barh Government Railway Police A police officer posted at Barh GRP said that the victim’s relatives have already been informed about the incident.

“The girl is shocked over the incident. She was living with her maternal aunt to continue her studies,” the officer said, quoting the victim.
