Goons spray bullets on student
1 min readPatna: A youth was shot at and injured by a gang of armed criminals at Sultanganj in Patna City area of the state capital late on Friday night.
The victim, identified as Rajnish Kumar Jha (27), has been admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger.
Patna City additional superintendent of police Hari Mohan Shukla said two persons intercepted Jha near College Ghat and fired at him.
The victim, who is pursuing an undergraduate course in law, told the police that he would reveal the names of the suspects as he could identity one of the assailants. The additional superintendent of police said the victim’s statement would be recorded later.
Cuffs on rebel
A joint team of the Sashastra Seema Bal and the district armed police arrested a Maoist Suresh Marandi from Hardia forest under the jurisdiction of Chandan police station in Banka district on Saturday.
Banka superintendent of police Chandan Kushwaha said a rifle, 112 live cartridges, hand grenade, gun and uniform were recovered during the raid.
