PATNA: Former union minister Sharad Yadav arrived here on Friday to kick-start the sixth phase of his ‘Jan Samvad Yatra’ in three districts of Bihar from April 7.

During his sixth leg of Yatra, Sharad will visit different places in Saran, Siwan and Gopalganj districts and address nearly a dozen meetings to create awareness among public about what his supporters term, the “murder of peoples’ mandate” in Bihar on July 26 last year when JD(U) president and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar dumped the grand alliance and realigned with the BJP to form a new government.

On his arrival, Yadav was accorded warm welcome by his supporters outside the Patna airport.

Yadav, who parted ways with Bihar CM following the latter’s alliance with the BJP in July last year, began the first phase of his Yatra in Bihar on August 10, 2017, just 14 days after the Nitish dumped the grand alliance, and began a consistent campaign to inform peoples that he was still with the grand alliance and the three-party alliance (comprising RJD, JD(U) and Congress) is continuing in Bihar.

“On the first day, Yadav will begin his Yatra by addressing a meeting at Sonepur (Saran district) at around 10 am. After that, he will address a meeting at Dighwara in the same district. He will reach Chhapra, the headquarters of Saran district, at around 12 pm to address a public meeting at the Municipal Corporation’s ground,” JD(U)’s Sharad faction’s state general secretary Rajendra Singh Yadav said.

“After Chhapra, Sharad will address two road-side meetings at Ekma and Dhundhaula on way to Siwan district headquarters. He will reach Siwan around 5 pm and address a public gathering in Town Hall. He will stay in Siwan on Saturday night. From Siwan, Sharad will reach Gopalganj via Mirganj and address a public meeting at Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hall in Gopalganj at around 1 pm. After that, he will address another meeting at Barharia in Siwan district and return to Patna to catch a flight for Delhi,” Rajendra said.
