Kishanganj: Two officials booked for embezzlement

Kishanganj : FIR has been lodged against two state goverment officials for embezzlement of Rs 88 lakhs in paddy procurement in Kochadhaman block of Bihar’s Kishanganj district, official sources said on Friday.

The State Food Corporation (SFC)’s district manager Md. Islam, lodged the FIR yesterday against the paddy procurement centre in-charge-cum-block statistics officer Anand Bihari Chaudhary and his assistant Ravikant for embezzlement of Rs. 88 lakhs in procurement of paddy during Kharif season last year, the sources said.

In the complaint, Islam said that accused persons swindled the amount by fudging the quantity of paddy procured at the procurement centre in Kochadhaman block, they said.

Raids were being carried out to arrest the accused who were absconding, the sources added.
