Left parties call for Bihar Bandh on August 2 to oppose atrocities against women

Patna: Left parties in Bihar comprising CPI, CPI (M), CPI (ML), SUCI (C) and RSP today called for ‘Bihar Bandh’ on August 2 to register their protest against growing exploitation of women and Dalits and ‘institutional’ sexual abuse.

A decision to that effect was taken in a meeting held at CPI (ML) legislative party office here.

The left parties also appealed all democratic and secular parties and opposition parties to extend their ‘active’ support to ‘Bihar Bandh’.

The meeting was attended by state CPI (ML) secretary Kunal, CPI (ML) politburo members Dhirendra Jha and K D Yadav, state CPI secretaries Satyanarayan Singh and Ravindranath Rai, state CPI (M) secretariate members Arun Kumar Mishra, Ganesh Shankar Singh and Sarvodaya Sharma, SUCI (C) leaders Suryankar Jitendra and Sadhana Mishra and RSP leader Virendra Thakur.

Leader of left parties said that what was apprehended in sexual exploitation of girls in Muzaffarpur`s short stay home, it was proving right now.
