Never teased a girl? Let Tiwari know!

Patna: Every man passes through a phase during adolescence when he is attracted to girls, RJD national-vice president Shivanand Tiwari said on Sunday, two days after the JDU alleged RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s sons Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav had been beaten up in Delhi in January 2008 for teasing women.

Tiwari declared that no man can say that he has never teased any girl.

“I am telling this with sporting spirit and not in the context of any misbehaviour with girls,” the former parliamentarian said.

“I cannot believe it if anyone claims that at a young age they were not got attracted towards or teased any girl. The JDU leaders are raising issue which is 10 years old. I am just airing my view and I feel sad that you cannot even talk openly in society.”

On Friday, JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar and chief spokesperson Sanjay Singh had cited the alleged incident of 2008. They had, however, admitted that no FIR was lodged in the alleged case.

Tiwari said that men being attracted towards the opposite gender is part of human evolution.

Sex is not a taboo, he said, and it is only the RSS which considers it taboo.

“One of the gods in the Hindu culture is Kaam Devta, there is also the Kamasutra… If there is any case against Tejashwi and Tej Pratap, the law will act in its own course.

“I am not saying that Tejashwi has teased any girl,” he hastened to add. “I am not indulging in character assassination of anybody.”

JDU leader Sanjay Singh tore into Tiwari for his statement.

“The statement of Shivanand Tiwari proves what kind of a party the RJD is. Now it should be mentioned even in the manifesto of the RJD that people up to the age of 19 can tease girls. He should also reveal the incidents of his youth as well. Because of Nitishji he survived in politics, he is a snake who is not loyal to anyone,” Singh said.

The JDU hopes, Singh said, that Tejashwi will apologise publicly for the 2008 incident.

Reacting to the JDU allegations, Tejashwi had said on Friday: “The chamchas (sycophants) of Nitish Kumar do not have any work.”

He had added: “If we start revealing all the activities the son of Nitish Kumar is involved in, they will not be able to hide their faces.”
