CRPF jawan Mujahid Khan who attained martyrdom in the recent terror attack in Karan Nagar in Jammu and Kashmir was laid to rest at his native village of Piro in Bihar’s Bhojpur district.

The body of slain jawan was brought to his native village on Wednesday morning after which the entire village poured to pay their last respect to the brave heart. However, what was striking during the Mujahid Khan’s last journey was the absence of any minister from the Bihar government.

When Mujahid Khan was being laid to rest, there was not a single minister from Former CM Nitish Kumar’s cabinet to represent the state and pay their tribute to the brave heart. What was further humiliating was the fact that the minister-in-charge of Bhojpur district, Vinod Singh was busy celebrating Valentine’s Day with his wife in Katihar.

A picture of Vinod Singh, minister for mines and in-charge of Bhojpur has gone viral where he is seen celebrating Valentine’s Day with his wife Nisha. Singh, who is the MLA from Pranpur is seen standing in a blissful mood with his wife with a rose in his hand. However, as soon as the pictures went viral, controversy was bound to happen.

But in a bid to douse the angst against him, Singh soon put forward his argument. Singh said that he had come to Katihar not to celebrate Valentine’s Day but Mahashivratri. He said that he came to know about the martyr from Bhojpur only once he reached Katihar. He said like rest of the country men, he too was saddened by the death of the CRPF jawaj Mujahid Khan.

“I am present here in person but my heart is with the family members of the CRPF jawan. I don’t want to say anything political on the issue, but will go and meet the family members of the brave jawan soon,” said Bihar minister Vinod Singh.
