Police inspector found dead in brothel

Muzaffarpur: An inspector of special branch (SB) belonging to Madhepur village in Madhubani district and presently posted at Sheohar, Arun Kumar Jha, was found dead in a Chaturbhujasthan brothel under mysterious circumstances during the early hours of Monday. Being posted in SB, he was in plain clothes and was to retire on January 31 next, according to police sources.

Confirming Jha’s death in Mithanpura PS area under mysterious circumstances, senior SP Saurabh Kumar said a special team has been engaged to investigate the case. The SSP could not divulge the reason behind Jha’s death nor was he in a position to confirm whether he was murdered or died a natural death due to excess alcohol.

Police sources also claimed that Jha was an alcoholic and had gone to the brothel of a professional dancer on Sunday evening obviously for an entertainment. Some empty liquor bottles have been found from the room where his body has been found. The Mithanpura police are interrogating the dancer and other inmates but no arrest has been made in this connection so far.
