Patna: The police seized over 544 bags of Indian-made foreign liquor worth Rs 1.5 crore from an abandoned truck on National Highway 30 in Rohtas district on Friday.
The truck registered to Rajasthan was found abandoned near Kalaspur village under Dinara police station in the district, around 165km southwest of Patna. The driver and cleaner escaped the spot.
Police sources said the driver and cleaner were waiting for somebody after parking the vehicle in an isolated place.

The DIG had asked the then SP to identity the points from where the vehicle carrying illicit liquor crossed to reach the destination. He had also hinted at the involvement of some police personnel in the illegal trade.
