Patna: Police on Wednesday night raided Sarthak hotel on Hotel Gali off Fraser Road and arrested four boys for allegedly organising a liquor party.

The four presumably minor boys, whose identities The Telegraph is withholding for journalistic conventions, had come to Patna from Siwan to appear for a competitive examination. Kotwali police arrested the hotel manager, Vinod Kumar Mishra, and sealed two rooms of the hotel.

“Police were carrying out a checking drive at various hotels on Hotel Gali on Wednesday evening. We recovered three full liquor bottles and an empty liquor bottle from the hotel rooms,” said Kotwali police station house officer Ramashankar Singh.

The SHO claimed that the four boys had come from Siwan and were to appear for an engineering entrance examination. They claimed to have brought the liquor from Siwan.

Singh said: “The hotel manager has been arrested and based on direction of Patna senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaaj, legal action will be taken against the hotel owners.” The SHO claimed that based on directions of Patna High Court, action will be taken even to seal the hotel building.
