Tejashwi asks Kushwaha to go Manjhi way

Patna: A day after RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha skipped the NDA feast, RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Friday asked him to follow Jitan Ram Manjhi and leave the NDA.

Soon after returning to Patna from New Delhi, Tejashwi directy asked Kushwaha to join the Grand Alliance of the RJD and Congress.

“If we could accommodate Nitish Kumar in the Grand Alliance we can accommodate anybody,” Tejashwi said. “Unlike in the NDA there is no big brother or small brother. Except chacha Nitish, anyone can join our Grand Alliance.”

Tejashwi said Kushwaha’s ideology does not match that of the BJP. “I don’t think Kushwaha ji will go with people who want to finish quota and change the Constitution,” Tejashwi said at the airport. “I must remind him that when he organised a human chain on education, the BJP, JDU or LJP did not join him but our leaders did.”

Tejashwi told the BJP not to give the JDU any Lok Sabha seat, not even Nitish’s home town of Nalanda. “Nitish hates the BJP and the BJP hates Nitish,” Tejashwi said.

Kushwaha, who too returned to Patna on Friday, downplayed speculations. “I couldn’t attend because of a personal engagement but why are people not asking Amit Shah ji, who too skipped it. Everything is fine in the NDA and I’ll remain in it,” he said.

“Kushwaha means to say he would have attended if Shah had done so and that those who did so where fools,” said a professor of political science at Patna University.

Manjhi said Kushwaha was welcome minus his chief ministerial ambition, as Tejashwi was the Grand Alliance’s chief ministerial candidate.
