Woman burnt alive for dowry in Bihar

Hajipur: The in-laws of a woman killed her by setting aflame when her family members refused to meet their dowry demand at Ismailpur village under Guraul police station area in Vaishali district late last night.

Police here today said the in-laws of Abha Devi (25) killed her by setting aflame after pouring kerosene oil on her as the family members were not meeting their dowry demand.
Sources said the woman was immediately rushed to Hajipur Sadar Hospital where she died during treatment.

Police said, Abha was married to one Rakesh Kumar, a native of Ismaipur village nine years back.
Sources said that the woman`s husband and in-laws made good their escape after committing the crime.
