PATNA: In a positive development, a number of students from the school of law and governance of the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) have been selected for summer internship by some premier institutions and law firms across the country.
CUSB PRO Mohd Mudassir Alam said students from the law school have been selected for summer internship by Bihar State Legal Service Authority, Jharkhand State Legal Service Authority, Uttar Pradesh State Legal Service Authority, Bihar State Human Rights Commission, advocates of Patna high court and various law firms and NGOs including the Peoples Union of Civil Liberties (PUCL), New Delhi. He further said two students of fourth semester BA LLB.(Hons) course: Subham Anand and Sumit Kumar Mishra, have been selected by IIT, Kharagpur, for a summer short-term course on ‘Arbitration and Business Dispute Resolution in the era of E-Commerce’.
Abhisekh Bharadwaj of BA LLB.(Hons), 4th Semester, has been selected by advocate general of Bihar for summer internship. Sannya of BSc LLB (Hons), 4th Semester, has been selected by ‘Adhrit Foundation’, Lucknow, and ‘For the Sake of Argument’, an NGO, for her internship. Vishal, Radhika and Avisekh of 2nd Semester, BA LLB (Hons), have been selected by ‘Human Rights Law Network’ for summer internship.
Two students from Centre for Development Studies of CUSB: Abhishek Kumar and Kumar Saurav, have got internship with Action Aid, an international NGO, said Alam.
Women’s Studies: Two self-financing courses, MA in women’s studies and PG diploma in women’s studies, run by Patna University history department are drawing huge rush of admission seekers. Course coordinator Padmalata Thakur said in a developing state like Bihar, women’s studies course offers vast prospects of job and employment in women-related government and non-governmental programmes. Students, both girls and boys, can clear UGC NET while enrolled in MA and after completing MA can enrol for PhD.
