Patna: A mini-battle is in the offing for parents of kids who would be trotting to school this year. Braving the winter chill, parents are making inquiries or collecting forms for their little one’sadmission to a school of their choice. Most of the schools of the city have announced dates for admission to Montessori classes and parents are busy taking care of the requirements stipulated by different institutions.
Forms for admission to Notre Dame Montessori School would be sold on February 1 (8am-12 noon) and 2 (9am-12 noon) for Rs 500. One form would be given to one person and there are 25 seats for boy students. The age of kids should be between two-and-half-years and three-and-half-years on March 31, 2014. Another premier girl’s school, St Joseph’s Convent High School, would sell admission forms on January 11 for its Montessori wing, Mary Ward Kindergarten, for Rs 300.
Admission notice for 180 seats of Montfort Montessori Home of LoyolaHigh School came up on January 6. Forms would be sold on January 18, 19 and 20 for students who would be four years of age on March 31, 2014. “The candidates must accompany parents at the time of submission of forms. Selection would be through observation and random method,” reads the notice put up at the school gate.
As anxious parents are already making rounds of different schools, a small crowd can be seen at almost all school gates or notice boards these days. Prospectus and preliminary application forms for admission to Don Bosco Primary School (LKG to class III) would be available at the primary school office on January 20, 21 and 22 from 9.30am to 12 noon on payment of Rs 500.
Admission notice for Std I of St Michael’s High School would come up on January 15, 2014, reads a notice put up at the school gate. Forms are generally sold in the first week of February. City’s Carmel High School is yet to come up with admission notice. It is expected to come in the third week of January.
A total of 33% seats are reserved for girls at St Xavier’s High School. Here, forms would be sold for admission to LKG as well as class I, each having 150 ICSE seats and 50 Bihar School Examination Board seats. However, since LKG was started last year, this is the last time forms for class I would be sold, a school official said. LKG admission forms would be sold on February 4 and 5 while the same for class I would be available on February 8 and 9.
Some schools in the city have already started the admission process. Registration for the first phase of admissions for academic session 2014-15 has closed at DPS, Patna. However, admission process may open again in February-March, 2014. Forms are available for admission to Gyan Niketan (girls and boys wing) on payment of Rs 650 at the school office.
