Munger University to select logo, flag through contests

PATNA: Newly created Munger University has decided to select its logo, seal design, emblem and flag through open competitions.
A decision to this effect was taken at the first meeting of the varsity Syndicate held under the chairmanship of VC Prof Ranjit Kumar Verma at Munger on Monday.

Prof Verma told this correspondent the meeting adopted several resolutions. “It also passed a resolution for implementation of the blueprint prepared by the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation of the administrative offices of the new university at R D College and D J College in Munger,” he said.

The meeting also approved a move to prepare a separate cultural activity calendar for students at each college of the university.

“The university will upload details of academic and other activities to its website for the convenience of students,” the VC said, adding at least 16 inter-college sports competitions and 13 inter-college cultural activities were discussed at the meeting for one calendar year.

Prof Verma said the Syndicate members also decided to urge the state government to provide adequate land to the new university for its campus. Other issues discussed at the meeting included formation of standing and statutory committees, reforms in affiliation and examination system and infrastructure improvement in constituent colleges of the university.

Those who attended the meeting included Chancellor’s nominee Maharshi Mudgal Deo, director (higher education) Sushil Kumar, pro-VC Kusum Kumari, students’ welfare dean Prof Kamal Kishore Prasad and university registrar Col Pravir Kant Jha.
