The third part of Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs Of Wasseypur is set to start filming in 2016, and Zeeshan Quadri maybe the one to direct it.
Gangs of Wasseypur created a wave in the film industry as the violent saga spread over two parts received a massive response from the critics and audience. The film also brought a lot of artists to the limelight, one of them being actor and script writer Zeishan Quadri, who played the role of Definite in the film.
A report in Mumbai Mirror said that a third instalment of the film is set to start filming in 2016, and Zeeshan maybe the one to direct it. Quadri had scripted Gangs of Wasseypur I and II. The film received a positive response at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, where it opened.
Speaking to the daily, Zeishan said, “It’s great when your mentor appreciates your work. I am what I am today because of Anurag sir’s guidance and encouragement. And will start work on Gangs of Wasseypur 3, soon.”
Anurag Kashyap, who directed the original film was all praises for the young Quadri, “The zeal and passion of my early days, I now see in him. He has a vivid thought process. He’s eager to learn and keeps reinventing and discovering ideas. In spite of not having any cinematic education, Zeishan has lots of courage. He has an incredible drive, which is four times mine.”
Gangs of Wasseypur is a five hour long revenge drama starring Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chaddha, Huma Qureshi, Tigmanshu Dhulia and several other actors. The film received several awards and had several Indian pop-culture references in the film which appealed to the audience.
Zeishan is making his directorial debut with Meeruthiya Gangster, an upcoming crime-comedy film, scheduled for a release on 18 September 2015. Cricketer Suresh Raina has lent his voice to the soundtrack of the film.
