PATNA: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited organised the 461st meeting of its board of directors at Bodh Gaya on June 30 and July 1.

The NTPC officials, who reviewed various ongoing projects on July 2, said the meeting was organized for the first time in Bihar in line with suggestions made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for development and promotion of domestic tourist places across the country.

All the directors, chief managing directors and other senior officials of NTPC participated in the two-day meeting. They discussed various issues, including business strategy and risk management.

Senior NTPC officials also planted saplings at Kalchakra Maidan in presence of chief monk of world heritage Mahabodhi Mahavihara and Nangzey Dorjee, member-secretary of Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee.

The dignitaries also visited various nearby tourist places, including Rajgir and Nalanda. “The meeting boosted the off-season tourist footfall at Bodh Gaya. It was a great relief for the small vendors and entrepreneurs to receive tourists during this time of the year,” said a statement released by the NTPC.
