Gaya rape survivor’s statement

Gaya: The 15-year-old girl and her mother, who were raped in Gaya, recorded their statements before judicial magistrate (first class) Swati Singh in a court here on Monday.

Women’s police station house officer-cum-investigating officer Sima Kumari produced the survivors in court under police protection. The statements were recorded under Section 164 of the CrPC.

Two youths had stopped the motorcycle the family was travelling in and robbed the girl’s parents of cash and jewellery late on June 13. After that, over a dozen men joined the two robbers, tied up the husband, and took turns to rape the mother and daughter.

Additional director-general of police, CID, Binay Kumar on Sunday said DNA tests would be conducted to nail the culprits.
