Nitish narco test call

2 min read

Patna: The RJD on Friday demanded that chief minister Nitish Kumar undergo a narco-analysis test for the Muzaffarpur sexual assault cases and resign.

RJD MLA Bhai Birendra said Nitish was very much aware of the activities at the Muzaffarpur shelter home where 34 girls were raped.

“Nitish ji is the main person and everything related to Muzaffarpur points at him, the custodian of the state,” Birendra said.

“He should undergo a narco test. Then everything will be clear. As chief minister he could not have been so ignorant about it. He should immediately resign.”

The RJD’s women’s wing, led by RJD women’s cell state president Abha Lata, even organised a protest march to demand Nitish’s resignation. The protesters tried to gherao the chief minister’s 1 Aney Marg official bungalow but were stopped by police.

Several women RJD MLAs, including former Union minister Kanti Singh and Rekha Paswan, too, joined the march.

The JDU youth wing, in turn, took out a protest march against leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, demanding his resignation as MLA for being charge-sheeted in a railway tender case.

The protest march was led by Om Prakash Singh Setu, state vice president of the JDU’s youth wing.

He demanded that Tejashwi’s private assistant Mani Yadav – charged under the Immoral Trafficking Act in 2011 – be sacked, and RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav – in jail for raping a minor – be thrown out of the party.

JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar on the other hand slammed the RJD leader Bhai Birendra, calling him illiterate as narco tests are conducted after obtaining court permission.

JDU chief spokesperson Sanjay Singh said the RJD should first look at the company Opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav keeps.

“The RJD should approach court – the way they had to extend Lalu ji’s provisional bail – if they have any evidence against our leader, because it is for the court to decide on narco test. The RJD leader (Birendra)is illiterate. But then what else to expect from them, after all they have all got their education from Charwaha Vidyalayas,” Neeraj said.

Charwaha Vidyalayas were schools Lalu opened for cattle-grazers but these ultimately shut down.

Sanjay also attacked Birendra. “Bhai Birendra actually wants a narco test on Tejashwi Yadav who roams around with Mani Yadav. We don’t care what Birendra says. He should first think about the kind of company his leader keeps.”
