Prisoner attacks inmate with sharp edged weapon in Siwan

Siwan: A prisoner made murderous attack on another inmate by trying to slit open his throat inside Siwan divisional jail today.

Jail authorities said that according to other prisoners, the accused Bharat Singh lodged in ward number 18 of the jail attacked another inmate Saddam lodged in ward number 17 near toilet with a sharp edged weapon to slit open his throat.

Sources said that Saddam had been rushed to a hospital in the state capital after his preliminary treatment at Siwan Sadar Hospital.

Sources said that Bharat Singh and Saddam had heated arguments over some issue three days back but the jail administration pacified them by intervening at the appropriate time.
