Patna: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a middle-aged man at Sandalpur under the jurisdiction of Bahadurpur police station in Patna City on July 1, the police said on Tuesday.
The victim’s father, a daily wager, reported the incident to the police on Monday after the girl narrated her tale of woes to the family. The station house officer of Bahadurpur police station, K.K. Gupta, said the accused, Santosh Chaurasia, who was a tenant in the survivor’s house, took her to a secluded place and raped her on Sunday night.
Chaurasia escaped after abandoning the girl in unconscious state. She somehow reached her home. SHO Gupta said the girl was sent to the hospital for medical examination on Tuesday. “The medical report is awaited,” he told The Telegraph over phone.
