Shatru trains tweet gun at PM

Patna: On a day Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister on a range of issues during a media interaction in Bangalore in poll-bound Karnataka, Narendra Modi faced words of criticism from within the BJP too.

It came from party Patna Sahib MP and former Union minister Shatrughan Sinha who came up with a series of tweets to vent his ire against Modi on Thursday.

His first tweet read: “Sir. Today, the election campaign will come to an end. Regardless of Dhan Shakti..ultimately Jan Shakti prevails. Even though I am uninvited, like in other states…from Bihar to UP to Gujarat as a star campaigner, for reasons best known to all of us, I shall humbly suggest..”

And in continuation came to another one: “…as an old friend, colleague & still a well-wisher, supporter & member of the party..Let’s not cross limits. Let’s not get personal. Issues should be conveyed in most beautiful way, keeping decorum. Maryada & Garima of honourable PM must be kept intact..@narendramodi @AmitShah”

Sinha has been referring to the Prime Minister as sir even in his previous tweets but on Thursday he chose to specify things in black and white by addressing the PM and also tagging his Twitter handle as well as that of the BJP president Amit Shah.

Sinha, who was away in Goa to attend some official meeting in the capacity of Member of Parliament didn’t stop at reminding the PM about Maryada (decorum) and Garima (dignity) and went on to remind him what had angered him.

His third tweet read: “Why do we come with odd & ridiculous definitions…like PPP for INC (Pondicherry, Punjab & Pariwar). Results will be announced on 15th. Anything can happen. Being PM does not make anyone the wisest in the country….for being PM requires no qualification…only majority..!”

The Prime Minister, while addressing an election rally in Karnataka on May 5 had stated that the party whose flag once fluttered “from Panchayat to Parliament” would become “Punjab, Puducherry, Parivar” Congress after its impending defeat in Karnataka.

He then questioned the use of such terms and tweeted: “While for becoming Shankaracharya one requires great wisdom, experience & statesmanship. What happens if your definition changes after results & your PPP becomes “of the People, by the People, for the People”, or for that matter, turns into “Popular People’s Party” @narendramodi”.
