Patna: Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) today expressed its disappointment over union budget for 2018-19 and deplored that no special scheme or special financial package was announced for backward states like Bihar.

After presentation of union budget in Lok Sabha, BCCI chairperson PK Agrawal said that people of Bihar particularly industrial sector were expecting announcement of some special scheme or special financial package but their hopes were dashed.
He said that similarly middle class people were highly disappointed as no relaxation was given in the income tax.

Mr Agrawal said that the proposal for slashing corporate tax rate to 25 percent for enterprises up to Rs 250 crore was a welcome step.

He said that the Centre`s decision to increase number of airports by five times, launch national health insurance scheme, convert all railway lines to broad gauge and also issue 16-digit number to industries on the pattern of Aadhar card were welcome.
