PATNA: Police busted a sex racket and arrested eight youths from Pharmaceutical Colony at Bhagwat Nagar under Agamkuan police station on Sunday.

Police also rescued four women from a private residential building from which the racket was being operated for the past three months. Several objectionable items were recovered during the raid.

The arrested persons have been identified as Uday Shankar (22), Dheeraj Kumar (20), Sanu Kumar (23), Tinku Kumar (23), Bhola Kumar (19), Sachin Kumar (18), Mukul Pandey (20) and Deepak Kumar (22).

City SP (central) Chandan Kumar Kushwaha said the racket was being run from the house of one Sukhvir Singh, who had rented a few rooms to a person about whom police are gathering information.

Sources said a woman, resident of Aagamkuan, was the kingpin of the racket. “Raids are on to arrest her,” police said, adding eight cellphones, two motorcycles and few other items were seized from the house.

Of the four rescued women, one hails from Hajipur in Vaishali district while the rest three are natives of Patna.

On June 9, police had arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in a flesh trade racket and rescued six girls from Friend’s Colony under Rajeev Nagar police station in the city.
