Purchase order worth Rs 15 crores placed on GeM portal in Bihar: Modi

Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday said
the purchase order of Rs 15 crores for procuring various articles required by several departments of the state government had been placed on Government-e-Market (GeM) portal, which was launched in the state on April 1, 2018.

Mr Modi said here that the system of GeM portal for direct purchase of articles worth Rs 50,000 was introduced in Bihar on April 1, 2018.

Order to purchase articles could be directly placed on GeM portal in case of the total amount was less than Rs 50,000 while for the amount more than Rs 50,000, bidding could be held on GeM portal itself, he added.

“State Home Department has placed order to purchase 43 Scorpio vehicles worth Rs 3.50 crores while purchase order of Rs 15 crores have also been placed by 80 departments and directorates to procure articles required by them,” Mr Modi said adding that Bihar had been awarded for excellent performance on purchasing articles through GeM portal.
