4 of family gunned down in Sitamarhi over land dispute

Four members of a family were gunned down over a land dispute in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district in the wee hours of Monday. The three accused were arrested soon after the incident.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem to Sadar hospital in Sitamarhi. Tension prevails in the area.

Sitamarhi sub-divisional police officer Kumar Vir Birendra confirmed the murder of four people, including a woman, saying, “Three people of the family were arrested as they had allegedly murdered their parents and brothers. The dispute seemed to be over a plot of land.”

Three stepsons allegedly killed their parents, Ramvilas Sah and Shail Devi, and stepbrothers Rahul Kumar and Nawal Kumar at their house under Dumra police station.

Soon after the incident, the police arrested Papu, Robot and Bittu, who were trying to flee into the adjoining Nepal.
