AIIMS blood bank opens tomorrow
1 min readPatna: Union minister of state for health Ashwini Kumar Choubey will inaugurate the much-awaited blood bank, outpatient department building and indoor blocks (C&D) on May 13 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS-Patna).
AIIMS director Prabhat Kumar Singh said the trauma and emergency wings of the hospital would be functional in the next eight to 10 days of the inauguration of the blood bank and other facilities.
Prabhat said a few works related to the eight new operation theatres were left to be finished because of which the inauguration of the trauma and emergency wing has been postponed for a few more days. However, even after the inauguration of the trauma and emergency wing of the premier hospital it won’t be able to cater to a large chunk of patients.
“We would have only 30 beds in the emergency and another 60 beds in the trauma wing. We want patients to continue seeking service of the other prime hospitals in the state as they have been visiting those facilities because we would have limited capacity,” said Prabhat.
