Babus told to declare assets by February 282 min read
Patna: All Bihar cadre IAS, IPS and IFS officers,Bihar government and state public undertakings employees have been asked to declare their movable and immovable assets by February 28. A circular to this effect was issued recently to all HoDs and DMs by the general administration department (GAD). It is mandatory for them to upload the details of their properties on GAD website. The format is already available on the department website.
GAD principal secretary D S Gangwar, in a separate circular to all the principal secretaries/secretaries and DMs, has requested them to appoint a senior officer as a nodal officer for the purpose. In districts, ADM rank official would be the nodal officer. The assets details of the officials and employees would be made available on the website by March 31. Handwritten and manual data will not be accepted, the circular clarified.
Two executive assistants would be deputed for this job in case the employees’ strength in a particular department exceeds 2,000. Gangwar, who is also the director of Bihar administrative reforms mission, directed the DMs concerned to arrange additional scanners till March 31 if the staff strength exceeds 8,000. The officials have also been directed to ensure the completion of assets declaration process before releasing February salary. Bihar government has also made it mandatory for all the IAS officers of the state cadre on central deputation to submit the details of their assets in the same manner. It will be easier for the government to keep a tab on corrupt officials and employees if it has their asset details.
