Bihar-bound train routed towards Aligarh
1 min readIn an apparent confusion over numbers, an assistant station manager (ASM) in Ghaziabad mistakenly routed the Bihar-bound Garib Rath Express towards Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday afternoon, an official said on Thurday.
The 12204 Amritsar-Saharsa Garib Rath Express was supposed to go through Mordabad but the ASM mixed it up with the 12506 North East Express (Delhi-Guwahati), an official said. However, the train driver realised the mistake and stopped the train just as it left the station. Officials privy to the incident said it was unclear how the ASM made the mistake as the entire process of routing trains is automatic at Ghaziabad.
