Bihar: More than 60 Maoists, extremists and criminals on most wanted list of STF
2 min readPATNA: More than 60 Maoists, extremists and criminals carrying rewards are on the most wanted list of Special Task Force (STF) of Bihar police at present. The list at a time can consist of maximum 100 names.
STF sources said Pravesh Da alias Anuj Da, Rambabu Ram and Vijay Yadav alias Sandeep Ji are top most wanted Maoists each carrying maximum Rs 5 lakh reward.
“Pravesh also carries a reward of Rs 25 lakh declared by Jharkhand government,” STF sources said.
They said Pravesh hailing from Vishnugarh in Hazaribagh and is wanted in 12 Maoist cases in Bihar while Rambabu is also a Maoist hailing from Madhuban in East Champaram and is wanted in 20 different cases. Vijay is native of Imamganj in Gaya and is wanted in 12 Maoist cases.
They said others on hit list are Vinay Yadav alias Murad Ji of Amba in Aurangabad district, wanted in at least 15 Maoist cases and carrying reward of Rs 3 lakh.
“Arvind Yadav alias Avinash Da from Sono in Jamui is wanted in 10 Maoist cases. Nageshwar Koda and Suresh Koda from Dharhara and Gopal Das from Kharagpur, all three from Munger are wanted extremists. Sitaram Rajwar, also an extremist from Navinagar in Aurangabad wanted in four cases and Indal Ji alias Uma Bhokta and Kalika Yadav are two wanted Maoists from Dumri and Imamganj respectively in Gaya. All of them carry reward of Rs 1 lakh each,” STF sources said.
STF sources said they were awaiting an official report from Jharkhand police to remove name of top Maoist leader Arvind Kumar alias Arvind Kumar Singh from the list. “Intelligence agencies had reported he died at his hideout on Budha Pahar in Jharkhand in March this year. He carried Rs 5 lakh reward in Bihar and Rs 1 crore in Jharkhand,” they said.
Sources said last year, altogether 25 most wanted of Bihar carrying altogether reward of Rs 16.5 lakh were arrested of which 21 were nabbed by STF.
“Out of the 25, three criminals, each carrying Rs 50,000 reward, were arrested by district police while Ganesh Shankar, a top People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) leader carrying Rs 5 lakh reward was arrested by Jharkhand police,” sources said.
This year till Sunday, STF’s special operations group (SOG) had arrested five most wanted criminals carrying altogether Rs 2.3 lakh reward while special intelligence group (SIG) arrested three most wanted Maoists including one of Jharkhand carrying altogether Rs 6 lakh reward.
