New Delhi: Congress today said the Bihar Assembly elections are a tussle between a ‘hawabaaz’ Prime Minister (PM resorting to empty talk) and a ‘kamkazi’ Chief Minister (competent CM).

Targeting the NDA, party General Secretary C P Joshi said the plans of those seeking to remove Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would come to a nought in the elections.

“It is a tussle between a ‘hawabaaz’ Prime Minister (PM resorting to empty talk) and a ‘kamkazi’ Chief Minister (competent CM),” Joshi told reporters.

Claiming that the polls would be a trendsetter, he said the exercise needed to be ensured as an impartial affair due to apprehensions of use of money power especially by those running the Centre.

Rahul Gandhi will launch his campaign for Bihar elections on September 20 with a rally at Champaran, from where Mahatma Gandhi had launched his first satyagraha for indigo farmers in 1917.

Joshi said leadership of the RJD and the JD-U are also being invited to the event. Reports had it that the Congress planned to make it a “mega” affair after the Swabhiman rally in Patna on August 30.

The Champaran rally is part of the Congress party’s year-long programme to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Dalit icon and architect of Indian Constitution, BR Ambedkar.
