1 min readChief minister Nitish Kumar offers sweets to a girl during Id celebrations at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Saturday, and (below) a child among devotees during prayers on Saturday.
Nitish attended Id namaaz at the Maidan and wished everybody present, including imam Mahsood Ahmad Quadri Nadvi.
Nitish said: “Amity, harmony, peace and love is the message of this festival to the society. Let us together take the society, state and nation ahead on the path of progress. I wish everybody on the occasion.”
But then, no Indian festival is complete without sweet dishes, and the chief minister dug into seviyan or sewai and also shared it with a little girl. Later, Nitish visited Khanqah Mujibia in Phulwarisharif and requested the religious leaders present there to pray for love, peace harmony and brotherhood in the state.
Nitish, who was accompanied by Phulwarisharif legislator Shyam Rajak, said he visits the Khanqah every Id.
