Fatuha: The arrested Class VIII student of Sephali International School has told police that she strangulated to death six-year-old Abhimanyu on Sunday night because the child had torn one of her answer books.

The body of Abhimanyu, a lower KG student, was found on Monday morning in the hostel room he shared with his two sisters Preeti, 8, and Muskan, 10, and the 16-year-old Class VIII girl student.

Police though suspect the boy had witnessed something “objectionable” in the room because of which he was silenced. Abhimanyu’s uncle Santosh Singh, who lodged the initial FIR, said: “Abhimanyu had complained to the principal about the ‘objectionable’ behaviour of a youth in the room of the girls. But the school management didn’t take notice of his complaint. The real culprits should be brought to book.”

Police on Thursday produced the Class VIII girl student before the juvenile justice board in Patna for her alleged involvement in the murder. The Telegraph is withholding her name as she is a minor.

The juvenile board later sent her to a reform centre in Gaighat.

The accused girl whose identity has been withheld due to her being a minor reportedly told the interrogators that she was irritated with Abhimanyu who used to tear off her answer books.
