CRPF jawan commits suicide

Srinagar: A CRPF jawan today allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle inside a camp in the high security Sonawar area here, police said.

Constable Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Bihar and attached with 79th battalion, was on sentry duty at the camp when he took the extreme step, police said, adding the reason behind his step was not immediately known.

Kumar was rushed to a hospital by his colleagues where he was declared brought dead.
