Cuffs for ‘communal’ post on social media

Gaya: A non-teaching employee of MG College has been arrested for allegedly posting communally provocative material on social media. The arrest was made on Tuesday and he was forwarded to Gaya Central Jail.

Shyam Prakash, son of an additional district and sessions judge, was arrested from his Nutan Nagar residence under the Civil Lines police station area of the town, around 97km south of Patna.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rajiv Mishra confirmed the arrest.

The SSP said a criminal case has been registered against Shyam at Rampur police station.

This is the second such incident in the district. Earlier, a health employee was arrested from Bodhgaya on similar charges. The health employee was subsequently dismissed from service.

The Gaya distict magistrtate and the SSP have repeatedly warned social media users against posting/liking or forwarding objectionable posts.
