Patna: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today put Nitish Kumar government in the dock over grim education scenario in Bihar, saying not a single sincere step had been taken by the government so far to improve the education sector in the state.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Gupta said that the only thing visible was deployment of huge security forces at examination centres, while teaching facilities in schools were virtually non existent.

He told media persons here that despite tall claims being made by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on improving quality of education in Bihar, ground realities appeared quite different as teaching facilities
in schools of the state, were virtually non-existent.

The number of teachers in schools was far below than what was needed to engage classes regularly in schools, he added.

Mr Gupta said that Nitish Kumar government had allocated only six per cent of the total budget of state for education sector, which was too meagre for a big state like Bihar.
