Eight dead as boat capsizes in Kosi river in Bhagalpur

Eight are feared dead after going missing as a boat capsized in Bihar’s Bhagalpur. The incident took place in Bhagalpur’s Kosi river where a boat carrying 15 people capsized.

While seven people swam to safety, eight are still missing. The rescue team is currently looking for the eight missing people. While returning from a wedding, the party of 15 people got into a fishing boat. The boat overturned as the boat was carrying more people than its capacity.

Top officials have rushed to the spot of the accident.

This is not the first such incident in Bihar. A boat had capsized in Patna on January 31 this year killing five people. A similar incident took place on January 14, killing 25 people.
