Former Bihar DGP’s wife robbed of her luggage

Jamshedpur: Former Bihar DGP D N Gautam’s wife Suman Gautam (65) was robbed of her luggage while she was travelling by South Bihar Express from Patna to Tatanagar on Sunday. Unknown miscreants stole Suman’s suitcase from the 1st class coach. She was travelling in A1 coach. She boarded the train from Patna along with her daughter and a grandson.

Following the incident the victim has lodged an FIR with the GRP, Tatanagar thana in the morning, leading the railway police to come into action for detection of the theft.

According to her in the suitcase there was Rs 10,000 and the victim’s personal belongings. She was coming to the house of her son Sanjay Gautam who works in Tata Steel. Superintendent railway police, Tatanagar, Sangeeta Kumari confirmed about the theft of the suitcase of Suman Gautam.

“We are started investigation. They have registered a case of theft soon after getting a complaint in connection to the theft. We are trying to detect the case,” Sangeeta said.

Sanjay Gautam has confirmed about the theft of her mother’s luggage, but he declined to give anything further.

“Yes the luggage has been stolen from the train. She has lodged an FIR with the railway police, which is investigating into the case,” said Sanjay.

Railway protection force (RPF) inspector, Tatangar, MK Singh has joined the probe into the theft. He said they had interrogated the coach attendant but nothing could be detected.
