Hardcore Maoist held with pistol in Bihar

Motihari: A hardcore Maoist was arrested on Saturday with a weapon from Kadhautia Bazarunder Shikarganj police station area in Bihar’s East Champaran district, police sources said.

Acting on a tipoff, the police raided a hideout and nabbed the Maoist, identified as Naresh Paswan, with a pistol, an ammunition and a mobile phone, the sources said.

A self-styled commander of the proscribed CPI (Maoist), Paswan was wanted in several cases of Naxalite violence in the district, they said.

The Naxalite was booked under relevant provisions of the IPC and sent to jail, the sources added.
