Heavy security for April 30 polls in Bihar1 min read
A total of 59,000 personnel of central paramilitary forces and state police as well as two helicopters would be deployed during elections in seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar on April 30.
Chief Secretary A K Sinha said today that 145 companies of central paramilitary forces, which include 35 companies of the Border Security Force (BSF), 34 companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 74 companies of the Bihar Minority Police (BMP) and 8,986 home guards, shall be deployed for the seven seats. Two helicopters will also be used for air surveillance, he said.
In riverine areas, boats, motorised boats, mounted police and motorcycles would be deployed, Mr Sinha said. Preventive measures have also been taken in vulnerable areas.
