Morphine worth Rs 32 lakh seized in Bettiah

Bettiah: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans seized foreign morphine worth Rs 32 lakh in the international market and arrested a peddler near Sikta railway station in West Champaran district today.

SSB sources said the peddler identified as Nitendra Kumar Yadav, a native of East Champaran district was arrested when he was smuggling 160 grams of foreign morphine from Nepal.

Sources said two Aadhar cards and a mobile phone fitted with two SIM cards including one of Nepal were seized from him.

A Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) team from the state capital reached the spot and took the custody of the smuggler along with the consignment.
